Setting the stage for a brighter tomorrow for homeless animals who have been affected by hurricane Sandy, comedians will take the stage at a prominent New York City comedy club to raise funds, awareness and people?s spirits in a time of need.
An annual jest fest created by funnyman/dog behaviorist Justin Silver (the star of the CBS series Dogs in the City,) Funny For Fido is the signature event for the comic?s non-profit organization, which helps to finance veterinary care, food and training for orphan dogs and saves animals who are facing their fate in kill shelters through transportation, foster care and by helping them find their forever homes.
This year?s event will include the rib-tickling routines of Saturday Night Live alum Colin Quinn; Nikki Glaser, who will star in MTV?s The Nikki and Sara Show starting in January; Sherrod Small, who TV viewers will know from VH1?s Best Week Ever; and host Justin Silver.
Proceeds from the 2012 Funny for Fido event will benefit the Jersey Shore Animal Center, The Mayor?s Alliance, Posh Pets Rescue and Mighty Mutts.
